Sunni scholars support Fill the Jails Movement for release of missing Shias

The eminent Sunni religious scholars who are part of a delegation of Muttahida Ulema Mahaz called on Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi at a Karachi police station and expressed their support to and solidarity with him for the legitimate demand for release of those innocent Shia Muslims who were subjected to enforced disappearances.

The founding secretary general Maulana Amin Ansari, Chairman Abdul Khaliq Afridi, Allama Murtaza Khan Rehmani, Media Coordinator Fahad Ali, Mazahir Hussain of Muttahida Ulema Mahaz met Allama Ahmed Iqbal. They were accompanied by Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain, the symbol of unity of Muslims.
Sunni scholars said that on the one hand, these people were subjected to enforced disappearances without any case against them and on the other their families also suffer due to multiple problems. They said that rule of law cannot be ensures without observance of human rights in Pakistan. They said that Islam doesn’t allow such collective punishment and punishment without any crime.
They said that demands of the Missing Shias Release Committee were legitimate hence the government and the relevant authorities must ponder upon them and meet them without any delay.
