Shia scholar not allowed to address Moharram Majalis in South Punjab

Eminent Shia religious scholar Allama Syed Iqtidar Hussain Naqvi is not being allowed to address the mourning congregations or Moharram Azadari Majalis in many districts of Southern Punjab because of biased and unlawful policy of pro-terrorists Punjab government that has been allied with the proscribed terror outfit ASWJ’s ringleaders.

The speech of Allama Naqvi, secretary general, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, South Punjab chapter was first banned in Multan, Muzaffar Garh, Layyah, Bhakkar and Khanewal. Now, new orders have been issued and he is not allowed to address in Rahim Yar Khan District alongside Liaquat Pur and Khan Pur.
Shia Muslims have turned down the gagging of non-controversial and law-abiding qualified Shia religious scholars in Punjab. Pakistani Shias believe that Punjab government’s alliance with banned Deobandi takfiri outfit ASWJ was the main reason behind unjustifiable anti-Shia restrictions on the legal and constitutional religious and cultural rights of Shia Pakistanis.
They have demanded that Punjab government must end its alliance with the takfiri terrorists of banned outfits and lift all sorts of restrictions on the Moharram mourning (Azadari) forthwith.
