Ansar Mehdi elected new President of Imamia Students Organization
Former Scout Chief of the ISO Ansar Mehdi has been elected 48th President of Imamia Students Organisation at the 46th annual Convention of the ISO that was culminated yesterday.
Allama Haider Moosavi announced the name of newly-elected central president while Allama Ghulam Abbas Raeesi administered oath.
“Imamia Students Organisation is a vanguard of ideological boundaries of Pakistan and to defend Pakistan’s ideological and geographical borders is our manifesto,” Ansar Mehdi said in his first address as President of the ISO.
Thousands of ISO workers and members of its electoral college attended the annual ISO Convention in Lahore. The theme of the convention was: Mehdism: Hope of Humanity. The Convention began on Friday and culminated on Sunday.
The ISO members also staged a rally from Nasir Bagh to Assembly Hall to condemn the US threats against Pakistan.
Many eminent religious scholars and former central presidents of the ISO also attended the convention. They included: Malik Ijaz Hussain, Sarfaraz Hussaini, Nasir Shirazi, Maulana Aqeel Moosa, Maulana Syed Hashim Moosavi, Syed Nisar Tirmizi, Maulana Shabbir Bukhari, Hassan Zaidi, Dr Moosa, Athar Imran, Tahwar Haideri and others.
