In his letter sent yesterday, Rabbani expressed concern over the news reports that record of students would be handed over to intelligence agencies and students would be required to get character certificates from police. He said that these two institutions were hard face of the state and an interaction with them would further consolidate the anxiety and fear in the minds of the students.
He said immediate steps were required to address the issue of extremism and violence in the youth for which he made aforesaid proposals. He said that diverse literary and academic activity would produce a counter paradigm.
