ISO meets Gilgit-Baltistan CM to invite him to Karakoram Educational Convention
A delegation of Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) Pakistan led by its central leader Yawar Abbas called on Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman and formally invited him to attend Karakoram Educational Convention being hosted by the ISO.
Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman has always remained hostile towards Shia Muslims and Shia students. He had not allowed the ISO to hold Youm-e-Hussain (AS) in Karakoram University and other educational institutions in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Hence, ISO’s meeting with him was surprising for many. However, now ball is in the court of the biased Chief Minister to shun the politics of sectarian prejudices and discrimination and play his role as the chief minister impartially. The denial of permission for Youm-e-Hussain (AS) and unjustifiable witch-hunt against Shia scholars, notables and students has tarnished the image of Hafeezur Rehman as a biased Deobandi who believes in discrimination on sectarian grounds hence he needs to refrain from such malpractices.
