Two leaders of Shia Ulema Council Punjab chapter resign
Two vice presidents of Shia Ulema Council Punjab provincial chapter have resigned from their positions and SUC Punjab president Allama Sibtain Sabzwari accepted their resignations.
Shia clerics Yaqub Raza Haideri and Muhammad Abbas Naqvi were vice presidents of the SUC Punjab chapter. They said they resigned due to persona engagements.
However, Allama Sabzwari’s statement on their resignations implied that they were asked to resign as he said: it is unfair that posts are accepted in a divine organisation then refrain from activities for the organisation. He said that the post in SUC is a trust of Shia Muslims and Allama Sajid Naqvi hence it is better to resign if one cannot win the trust of the party chief.
Allama Sabzwari hoped that the two leaders would continue to work for the SUC in other capacities. He said that it was need of time to make SUC more active and foil the plots of enemies of Pakistan.
