Despite the fact that many Shia pilgrims were injured in a mishap, they have been prevented from leaving Taftan for last 10 days against which they have begun staging a sit-in at Taftan border town against the civil administration and security officials.

The bus carrying Shia pilgrims caught fire due to which many were injured. At least 60 pilgrims hail from Bhakkar. The Shia pilgrims also included women, children and elderly persons.
It is relevant to add here that Taftan border town has no facility for these pilgrims. Neither injured pilgrims have access to medical treatment nor do the pilgrims have access to potable water and hygienic food. They have to suffer due to sweltering heat because there is no air-conditioned hotel in the town.
And to add fuel to their miseries, they have to bear all expenses during their forced stay at the Taftan border against their will.
They have demanded President, Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Chief of the Army Staff to order for an end to the forced stay of Shia pilgrims on return from Iran. They demanded that they must be allowed to leave Taftan for Quetta so that they could reach their native towns from there.
