Taliban Swat group commander arrested for terrorist attacks

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and Karachi Police have conducted a joint raid in Baldia Town where they arrested a commander of banned Deobandi terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Swat group who was involved in attacks on police, army and destruction of schools.

Suleman alias Lala was also running Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat group’s radio station from the Deobandi seminary of his father. Lala originally belonged to Swat and a resident of Landhi Cattle Colony in Karachi, however, he was arrested in Saeedabad, Baldia Town.
He joined Taliban in 2008 and got militancy training in Swat where he also attacked Pakistan Army and destroyed schools. He shifted to Karachi in 2011 where he joined Sajjad Langrha group. He was an expert of bomb-making. He planted bomb in rickshaw to hit ANP leader Bashir Jan’s election rally in 2013. He attacked police mobile leaving 4 dead. He was involved in many other terror attacks in Karachi and Swat. Many of his abettors have been killed in encounters with security officials.
