TMO Bannu and office superintendent suspended for anti-Shia ad

Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) of Bannu and his office superintendent were suspended for releasing an advertisement in which they equated Shia Muslims with the non-Muslim minorities and offered mean job of sweeper.

The action came from Secretary Local Council Board Khizr Hayat Khan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province after Nasir Abbas Shirazi, deputy secretary general of the leading Shia party Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) contact higher officials of the KP government and lodged stiff protest against the biased and scornful job policy.
Shia Muslims have praised the MWM’s timely action and efforts that bore fruit and an apology also came from the KP government and the relevant high officials assured that they would apologie in public as well.
