Gilgit-Baltistan to be made 5th province of Pakistan, vows Allama Sajid Naqvi
Chief of Shia Ulema Council Pakistan Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi has vowed he will continue to strive to ensure that Gilgit-Baltistan is made fifth province of Pakistan.
“We were the first who demanded due Constitutional rights for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and we were the first to raise the slogan that Gilgit-Baltistan will be fifth province of Pakistan,” he said addressing a largely attended public meeting that was held in Gilgit (Nagar) to commemorate Mohammad Ali Haider Shaikh, a member of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly who hailed from Allama Sajid’s party and had died recently.
Allama Naqvi assured the people of G-B that due to his efforts and struggle, Gilgit-Baltistan would be made fifth province of Pakistan.
He lambasted the government for victimizing innocent people and scholars putting them in the fourth schedule and denying them their due rights.
He said that Shaikh Ghulam Haider had suffered due to victimizing policies of the government and then his son Mohammad Ali Haider faced hardships but both oft them remained committed to their cause to serve people.
“Shaikh Mohammad Ali Haider was an ideological person. We feel a vacuum created due to his sad demise,” he said.
