Innocent Shia Mehbob Ali taken into illegal custody 45 days ago
Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) claimed to have arrested a Shia Muslim whose family says that Mehboob Ali was taken into illegal custody 45 days ago since Rangers showed his arrest in a fake encounter.
Family says that Mehboob Ali, a resident of Soldier Bazar had no link with any party or group involved in any criminal activity nor he himself has ever committed any crime that was blamed on him.
Rangers said that Mehboob was injured in an encounter near Sohrab Goth Karachi and he was linked with banned Sipah-e-Mohammad, a charge that his close relatives denied.
Shia Muslims of Pakistan have expressed dismay over the biased approach of some of the security officials who have been trying to divert the focus of National Action Plan terrorists of banned takfiri outfits to innocent Shia Muslims.
Around 100 Shiites were taken into illegal custody and their whereabouts were not made known to their heirs.
