Martyr DIG Syed Ahmed Mubeen: A formidable officer against takfiris

Syed Ahmed Mubeen Zaidi who embraced martyrdom in the suicide bombing in Lahore yesterday remained a formidable security officer for the takfiri terrorists of banned outfits such as Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah-e-Sahaba and Taliban.

He played a key role in counterterrorism operations in Punjab and Balochistan where he inflicted heavy losses to the takfiri terrorists. He was also part of covert operation of security agencies against the terrorists.
Born and raised in Quetta, DIG Traffic Captain (retd.) Ahmed Mubeen Zaidi served as Captain in Pakistan Army before joining the civil service after his retirement. He was first appointed as ASP Kamonki.
Later, he served as ASP Defence, SP Model Town, SP Security and SP Traffic in Lahore.
Captain Mubeen was also transferred to Balochistan, where he served as SSP in Quetta before his promotion as DIG Operations. He had also served as Additional Director General of Overseas Foundation.
The retired army captain was lately appointed as Chief Traffic Officer in Lahore and shortly before the blast, he was negotiating with protesters to end the protest and open road for traffic.
