Shia Muslims will not remain silent against persecution, warns Allama Mubarak

Allama Mubarak Mousavi, secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Punjab chapter, has warned the government that Shia Muslims would not remain silent against ongoing persecution.

“If the target killings of Shia Muslims continue and if the terrorists involved in the targeted murders of Dr Khalid Butt and Dr Qasim are not punished, we shall have to come out on streets to protest,” he said speaking at a press conference in the MWM Punjab secretariat.
He said that on the one hand terrorists were killing Shia Muslim notables and on the other innocent Shiites were being arrested and detained illegally for months without informing their families of their whereabouts.
He said that two Shia doctors were killed in Sahiwal district of Punjab but no terrorist has been arrested so far. He demanded that their killers must be arrested and be awarded capital punishment.
Allama Mubarak Mousavi turned down the government policy of balance under which the government was unjustly equating patriot and law-abiding peaceful Shia Muslims with the ringleaders of those organizations whom the government itself banned for their involvement in terrorism.
MWM Punjab secretary general warned the government to stop persecution of Shia Muslims otherwise they would come out on streets to protest against the state-sponsored persecution of Shia Muslims.
