IJT hooligans torture student of Punjab University for pro-Salman tweet

A student of the Punjab University Law College was tortured by some students for tweeting in favour of a missing blogger Professor Salman Haider on Tuesday.

The student, a resident of hostel number 1, had tweeted in support of the missing activist and blogger and also shared a poem of Faiz Ahmad Faiz to express solidarity with him.
A PU official said that a group of students reached the student’s room and beat him up. The victim had to get medical aid. He refused to talk.
The PU spokesman said VC Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir had ordered probe into the matter and a case would be registered against the culprits.
Unfortunately, Islami Jamiat Talba, student-wing of Jamaat-e-Islami has set an indecent precedent of attack on teachers and students in universities, which has brought a bad name to the IJT in all over Pakistan.
