PMLN govt kills two birds with one stone on the issue of Raheel Sharif

Nawaz Sharif-led PMLN government is very much happy that former army chief General Raheel Sharif is rapidly losing its positive image in the eyes of Pakistani nation because he had accepted a position in the Saudi-led military alliance.

Raheel Sharif earned a good name and became a hero after he ordered Operation Zarb-e-Azb to eliminate the takfiri terrorists of banned outfit. His National Action Plan and military courts also evoked a positive reaction from people of Pakistan. Many wanted him to continue and government must grant him extension.
But, Nawaz Sharif was displeased with him and he wanted to get rid of him. In the meantime, US-allied Saudi monarchy had formed a military alliance and persuaded Raheel Sharif to join the alliance. Saudis lured him and gave him away Saudi medal to woo his support.
Raheel Sharif gave in and spread the news of joining the Saudi-led alliance but that has cost him dearly. Nation turned against him and began criticizing him to become a part of an anti-Islam and anti-Arab alliance.
Some analysts have opined that the PMLN government has killed two birds with one stone. On the one hand, they get rid of him by not extending his tenure as COAS and on the other hand defaming him among people.
So far, doubts have not been cleared who allowed his appointment since he is bound to stay away from any job for two years according to service rules. Government says they have not given permission nor that was sought from them. GHQ also remains silent. Hence, a hero of yesterday has become a villain of today because of the impression that he has accepted to become a servant of Saudi monarchy that itself is mother of all terrorism.
