Lashkar-e-Jhangvi attacks CTD Police official in Sahiwal

Deobandi terrorists of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi attacked an inspector of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and his driver in Sahiwal district of Punjab on Friday.

Police said that terrorists ambushed a car near Chowk Pakpattan of Sahiwal district. The CTD inspector and his driver were seriously wounded in the firing and the assailants fled from the scene of attack.
Reports had it that 16 bullets hit Mirza Asif but he luckily survived. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police registered a case and started the investigation.
Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is sister-wing of proscribed Deobandi terror outfit ASWJ (banned Sipah-e-Sahaba) but police have not named them in the FIR due to their influence in the powerful quarters.
