Security contingency plan finalized for Rabiul Awwal processions

On the order of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, contingency security plan was finalised for processions of chup taazia of 8th Rabi ul Awwal (Thursday) and Eid Miladun Nabi on 12th of Rabiul Awwal (Monday) in coordination with Rangers and other law enforcement agencies.

Spokesman for the Sindh Police said that the IGP had instructed that extra-ordinary security arrangements be made for said processions.
The IGP further has directed that all the stakeholders should be taken onboard for promoting inter-faith harmony and cohesion.
He said that action should be taken against provocative speeches, pamphlets, wall-chalking and other such material and implementation of loudspeaker Act should be ensured. Further, the IGP has directed that strict security be ensured for the main procession of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. A special traffic plan will be prepared to ensure regular flow of traffic on the occasion.
As per security plan, M.A Jinnah would, the main route of the procession will be sealed from early morning while security at mosques, Imam bargahs, Madaris, and Mazars will be beefed up.
