Lahore High Court has allowed Ahmed Ludhianvi, head of proscribed terrorist outfit ASWJ, to contest the by-election to Punjab Assembly from Jhang district’s constituency PP-78. He was earlier declared disqualified to do so.
The full bench of the LHC headed by Justice Shahid Jamil Khan heard Ludhianvi’s review petition against the previous verdict that disqualified him.
It is strange that a ringleader of notorious outfit of fanatics that is proscribed version of banned Sipah-e-Sahaba has been allowed to participate in electoral process despite the fact that he was named in the fourth schedule for connection to terrorist activities.
People of Pakistan are surprised to see that ban on violent extremist and militant outfits never impeded banned outfits activities anywhere in Pakistan and they continue to preach their ideology of hate, intolerance and violence, freely.
