Deobandi terrorists granted police remand for 14 days
Anti-Terrorism Court’s administrative judge in Karachi on Tuesday granted 14 days remand of two Deobandi terrorists of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi/ASWJ in murder cases of Sunni qawwal Amjad Sabri and two Sunni personnel of Military Police (MP). They were also involved in targeted murders of Shia Muslims.
Asim Capri and Ishaq Bobby were given in custody of police in four cases while a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was formed as well.
They were presented before Administrative Judge of Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATC). Investigation officer informed the court that the arrested culprits were involved in murders of Amjad Sabri and MP personnel among other terror attacks across Karachi.
Cases over possession of explosives and unlicensed weapons were also lodged against them, the court was told.
It was said on the occasion that Sindh Government formed a JIT to interrogate the two suspected target killers. The committee comprises of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Umar Shahid, special branch’s Younis Chandio among representatives of Rangers and intelligence agencies.
Asim and Ishaq were apprehended yesterday in Liaquatabad by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) after which Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah addressed a press conference and confirmed that forensic evidence suggested involvement of the two in around 28 crime scenes in different parts of the metropolis.
