Four Deobandi terrorists belonging to banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, its mother origination ASWJ (Sipah-e-Sahaba) and Saudi-based Wahhabi outfit al Qaeda’s local chapter were arrested in Karachi. Arms and hate material were also seized from them.
SSP District Central Police of Karachi said on Saturday night that Umar Hayat was arrested in the limits of Rizvia Society with arms. He is a target killer of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. In past, he also worked for Taliban Mohmand group and also remained in Afghanistan for killing innocent Muslims there.
Earlier, three militants affiliated with banned terror outfits were arrested during a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) operation on Friday from the Korangi, Orangi and Layari area of Karachi, said a statement released by the police. They were identified as Mohammad Aziz, who was affiliated with Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), Tauseef Zaheer who was affiliated with Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, and Abdul Hafeez who was affiliated with Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan now called ASWJ, added the statement.
“Arrested persons were involved in various terror activities ranging from attack on law enforcement agencies, extortion, providing explosives and financing terrorists and their activities,” said the statement released by the CTD.
LEAs also recovered explosives and weapons from the arrested suspects.
