Lahore High Court awarded imprisonment to a member of national assembly (MNA) Chaudhry Abid Raza who originally hails from proscribed ASWJ but took the cover of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) to hide his sectarian identity.

According to initial details, Chaudhry Abid was booked for murdering 6 people.
Chaudhry Raza Abid who was elected as MNA on the ticket of PML (N) in 2013 General Elections from NA-107 (Gujrat-IV) was given death penalty in 2003 by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) for his involvement in the murder of six people in Gujrat.
However, he was released after settlement and payment of financial compensation under Diyyat (Islamic Law) to the families of deceased and they forgave him accordingly. But, now he was awarded imprisonment. Details of the judgment are not available.
He was a sectarian ringleader of Sipah-e-Sahaba that has renamed as ASWJ, mother of all terrorism in Pakistan. Unfortunately, PMLN has accepted him into its fold.
