Renowned Shia leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek arrested illegally
Renowned Shia leader Syed Ali Ausat, an official of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has been taken into illegal custody by Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) without any warrant and without apprising his family members of his whereabouts.
Syed Ali Ausat is a senior Shia notable of Karachi who actively participated in the political activities. He is a law abiding pro-peace and moderate Shia notable who never preached violence in any speech or statement.
Alongside his political affiliation with Dr Tahirul Qadri, he is also a trusted lieutenant of renowned Shia scholar Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain, head of All Pakistan Shia Action Committee.
His family members and friends have urged the government and judiciary to take notice of undeclared arrest of Syed Ali Ausat and order the rangers to release him forthwith. They demanded that the family should be allowed to meet him and if there is any charge, he must be allowed legal denece.
