Who assassinated Shia Police Officer Irfan Haider?
Police and other investigating agencies have linked the targeted murder of Shia police officer Irfan Haider Naqvi and Sub Inspector Shahbaz Ali, to the arrest of MQM’s activist Shujaat Hashmi who the investigators have called target killer.
Shujaat Hashmi was arrested from the limits of Sir Syed Police Station where Irfan Haider was posted some 15 days ago.
Shiite News correspondent cited that Sir Syed Town of North Karachi is stronghold of either MQM or outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba who has renamed as Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat.
It is relevant to add here that Shia Muslims of Karachi had been ambushed/ assassinated in the strongholds of the MQM despite the fact that this party has a strong intelligence network.
In the past, Shia leaders have questioned the MQM’s role vis-à -vis Shiites targeted murders in Karachi. The MQM leadership had been informed time and again about the anti-Shia policies and officials of the MQM. Many top officials of the MQM were proved as close friends and allies of the outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba.
During the tenure of MQM’s man as Sindh’s Home Minister, outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba was granted permission to hold their anti-Shia public gathering in Gulshan-e-Hadeed. One of its MNAs had attended a public gathering of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba at Nagan Chowrangi to express solidarity with them. Another official and former provincial minister inaugurated the mosque controlled by anti-Shia fanatics in Hassan Colony.
Then members of the Karachi Tanzeemi Committee and Rabta Committee had assured their all out support to the outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba’s terrorist Aurangzeb Farooqi when they met him at his Nagan Chowrangi office.
Targeted murders in Nazimabad, Paposh Nagar and Gulbahar/Golimar were also considered perpetrated in collusion with the party that is known as ethnic one.
