allama raja nasir press conMajlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, a leading Shia party of Pakistan, has announced countrywide protest on Friday against the government’s decision to increase per unit prices of electricity and petroleum products.
“The PMLN government has failed in first 100 days. Its anti-people policies have sparked off stiff opposition from a vast majority of Pakistanis,” said Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of the MWM at a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Shiite News Correspondent reported that the MWM’s head further said that the PMLN had promised that they would sort out all problems and overcome the energy crisis but their decisions proved their words didn’t match their actions.

“Increase in electricity tariff and raise in petroleum products will engender huge hike in the prices of items of daily consumption and other essential commodities and cost of living will automatically shoot up,” he said.

Allama Jafari said that the PMLN government has broken the backbone of the economy of financially poor and middle class people.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his government have proved them a loyal group of International Monetary Fund and relieved the IMF instead of giving relief to people,” he said.

He warned that people of Pakistan would not allow the PMLN and its government to continue bowing to the IMF’s anti-Pakistanis agenda. He said that people of Pakistan will observe Friday as a day of protest against the PMLN government’s anti-people policies particularly the increase in the electricity’s per unit price and per litre prices of petroleum products.
