Pakistan-wide azadari processions on 7th Muharram for martyrs of Karbala

Countrywide processions of 7th Muharram were held in almost all cities of the country in order to pay homage to the great sacrifices offered by the martyrs of Karbala led by Imam Hussain (AS). In most of the cities, towns and hamlets, Shia Muslims commemorate the martyrdom of a youngster Hazrat Qasim (AS) son of Imam Hassan (AS) on Moharram 7 even though he was also martyred on Ashura 10th of Moharram in 61 A.H.

From Karachi to Baltistan and from Azad Kashmir to Balochistan province, mourning processions were brought out with alam pak, zuljanah and other symbols of Karbala. Mourners beat their chest raising the slogans Ya Hussain (AS). The processions were participated by huge masses of mourners (azadars) across the country.
In Rawalpindi, main procession was brought out from Colonel Maqbool Imam Bargah. In Quetta, main mourning procession began from Imam Bargah Nasir ul azha and after passing through Prince Road, Archar Road and Liaqat Bazar ended at the point of its beginning. In Multan, main mourning procession came out of Imam Bargah Haideria and after following its traditional path, ended at the point of start.
The mourning processions of 7th Muharram also held in Jhang, Bahawalnagar, Mandi Bahauddin, Daska, Bhalwal, Kamoki, Chiniot, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Khanpur, Thatta, Hyderabad, Sujawal, Badin, Nawabshah, Lahore, Gilgit and Baltistan and certain other cities where they followed the specific pattern and ended upon reaching their destinations.
