SUCShia Ulema Council has turned down the increase in the prices of petroleum products and electricity and demanded of the government to withdraw said raise.
“Soaring prices of electricity and petroleum products have raised the cost of living and made it impossible for a common man to make both ends meet,” said Allama Arif Vahidi, Secretary General of the Shia Ulema Council.

Shiite News Correspondent reported that the leader of the major Shia party lashed out at the PMLN government for the increase in the tariff of electricity and raise in petroleum products.

“Politicians hoodwink people by double standards. During elections, they release manifesto promising paradise on earth but when them come to power they made country hell,” he said.

He said that the increase in prices of petroleum products and electricity is unjust and tantamount to government-sponsored oppression of people. He warned the government not to test the patience of people and take back its anti-people decision.
