Sunni-Shia unity marks Youm-e-Hussain at a university in Karachi

Sunni and Shia Muslims largely attend “Imam Hussain Day” to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of grandson of Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH), the last apostle and Prophet of God, at Federal Urdu University in Karachi.

Renowned Shia scholar Allama Amin Shaheedi, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan’s Sunni scholar Allama Aqeel Anjum Qadri, Allama Mirza Yousuf Husain of All Pakistan Shia Action Committee and vice chancellor Dr Suleman D Mohammad spoke at the Youm-e-Hussain (Imam Hussain Day) that was organized by Imamia Students Organization.
Speaking to the students attending the event, aforementioned speakers highlighted the personality of Imam Hussain (AS), his family and companions who embraced martyrdom in Karbala. They elaborated the tyrannies of Umayyad despotic and dynastic ruler Yazid son of Muavia. They said that Imam Hussain (AS) struggled to uphold the true face of Islam and the divine truth. They said Imam Hussain became a symbol of revolution, change and uprising against the rule of oppressions across the world due to his unmatched defensive fight finally in Karbala.
