mwm protestThe supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen observed Friday as a day of protest against the targeted murders of Shia Muslims and terrorism across Pakistan.

Demonstrations were staged under the aegis of the MWM in all over Sindh province including its capital Karachi where people gathered outside Shia mosques after Friday prayers. Such rallies were witnessed in Kharadar, Malir, Abbas Town, New Karachi, Landhi and Steel Town.

Speaking to the protestors, Allama Mukhtar Imami, secretary general of the MWM Sindh chapter condemned the terrorist attack on senior judge of Sindh High Court Justice Maqbool Baqar in Karachi.

“In the wake of the murderous attack on a senior judge, Chief Justice of Pakistan should take action against the terrorists of outlawed terrorist groups who claimed responsibility for the attack,” Allama Imami urged.

He said that innocent Sunni and Shia Muslims and non-Muslims have so far been killed at the hands of these terrorists who have also assassinated eminent figures and recently they murdered the climbers in Nanga Parbat.

“In theory, a government exists but in fact terrorists practically rule the country. They strike when and where they want to hit. We see no government writ anywhere in the country,” he said.

Allama Imami said that the terrorists have massacred innocent Shia Muslims when they were offering prayers in Martyr Arif Hussaini Seminary in but KPK minister made an irresponsible statement instead of making policy statement against the terrorists. He demanded Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s chairman Imran Khan and the KPK Chief Minister to take notice of the irresponsible statement of the PTI-led KPK government.
