Sunni leader says Imam Khomeini a spiritual guide for Muslims

A leader of a major Islamic Party on Monday said that Imam Khomeini is a great Islamic leader of present era and spiritual guide for Muslims around the world.

Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said Muslims of Pakistan consider Imam Khomeini as the savior of Muslim Ummah.

He praised the efforts of late Imam in resisting the imperialist forces and rooting out the secularism from Iranian society. “He united the Iranian nation under the banner of Islam,” said the religious leader.

Jamaat-i-Islami leader added that Imam Khomeini had told the world that Islam is not only a religion but a complete system.

The politician expressing his views said that Islamic Revolution of Iran has become a role model for all Muslims. He added that the Revolution had left deep impacts on politics of region.

Liaqat Baloch said that US, Europe and their agents in Muslim states are still in a state of shock on the success of the Islamic Revolution.

“Imam Khomeini had guided Muslims how to come out of the influence of imperialist forces,” said the religious leader.

He said that Imam Khomeini had revived the issue of Palestine and gave new spirit to the oppressed Palestinian nation. The politician added that people of Palestine will always remember the efforts of Imam Khomeini for their independence.

He added that people of Pakistan love and respect the personality of Imam Khomeini and consider him as the savior of Muslim Ummah. “People of Pakistan highly admire the courage of late Imam,” he noted.

Liaqat Baloch said it is because of the teachings of Imam Khomeini that Islamic Revolution is flourishing after 35 years. He strongly believed that Imam Khomeini was the only Islamic leader that could have brought Muslims out of their problems.
