MWM demands military operation against outlawed TTP in Karachi

Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has demanded that a military operation be launched against the terrorists of outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and their offshoots in Karachi forthwith.
“A Shia lawyer and his two teenage sons and two youths have been murdered and a Shia doctor and his youngster daughter were injured by outlawed Taliban and their offshoots in Karachi,” Allama Sadiq Raza Taqvi, secretary general of the MWM Karachi chapter said speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday.

He said that a police cop was held for murder of eminent Shia educationist Professor Sibt-e-Jafar and police cops were also arrested for similar crimes in the past too that proved that there are black-sheep within the law enforcement agencies. He demanded that an immediate campaign be launched to purge the law enforcement agencies of the terrorists and their abettors from these organizations.

“We shall launch a countrywide sit-in protest immediately if our demands are not met forthwith and then the government and the state will be held responsible for the repercussions,” he warned.

Allama Taqvi said that Shia Muslims are peaceful and law abiding citizens of Pakistan and their tolerance should not be tested by the acts of terrorism and intimidation.

He also criticized the civil society and human rights organizations for their criminal silence against the terrorists who perpetrate the pogroms of the Shiites across Pakistan. He said that two teenage boys and a 12 year girl were made targets along with their fathers who were professional citizens of the country and a great asset of the nation.

“We demand lawyer fraternity to continue their protest till the arrest and punishment to the murderers of Kausar Salqain and his sons. The assassins of other Shia lawyers go unpunished therefore terrorists feel free to continue to target them,” he said.

MWM Karachi chapter’s secretary general said that terrorist attack in Imamia Colony Peshawar and targeted murders of Shia Muslims in Karachi are part of a single deep rooted machination that is aimed at punishing the Shiites for playing leading role in making of Pakistan.

He demanded that the caretakers and the government to be formed should begin military operation to eliminate terrorists and bury the terrorism. He rejected the idea of talks with the terrorists and said that nowhere around the world, governments hold talks with the terrorists but take them to task according to the law. He said that the terrorists are criminals and insurgents therefore counterterrorist and counter insurgency operations be conducted without any delay.
