Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari says terrorism is not sectarian but a national issue
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has said that terrorist attacks on different parties vindicated the MWM’s position that terrorism is a national issue and not the sectarian one.
“We warned the nation that genocide of Shia Muslims is not a sectarian issue but terrorists pose threat to all but our stance was taken for granted,†said Mr. Jafari while condemning the targeted murder of Shia lawyers and an ANP electoral contestant.
He cited that the terrorists assassinated Professor Sibt-e-Jafar, eminent scholar such as Saeed Haider Zaidi, Agha Aftab Haider Jafari, who were Shiites but they also killed Sunni Muslims and non-Muslim figures. The terrorists have attacked GHQ, Pakistan Navy, and Pakistan Air Force, police, lawyers, teachers, intellectuals and scholars.
“Now, the terrorists want to sabotage election process by assassination of the electoral contestants and blasts at election offices of the contesting parties,†he said and demanded of the caretaker government, armed forces and election commission should leave no stone unturned to hold free and fair elections in a peaceful environment.
He urged the government to ensure immediate arrest of the killers of ANP candidate from NA-254 namely Sadiq Zaman Khattak and his son. He said that the terrorists deserve no mercy and nation must get united to defeat and crush the terrorists who are agents of the foreign forces.
