MWM announces manifesto of Peace, Humanity and Unity
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has announced its much-awaited manifesto that contains the slogan of peace, humanity and unity and vow to establish just Islamic system with proportionate representation.
Nasir Abbas Shirazi, central secretary political affairs of the MWM made public the manifesto at a largely-attended press conference in Lahore. Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Allama Abu Zar Mehdavi and other leaders of his party were also present.
“Nobody in the past focused on 5-years planning, let alone the long term planning. We have plans for next 40 to 50 years,†said Nasir Shirazi.
He vowed that progress on Pak-Iran gas pipeline project and Gwadar Port’s control to China would be made and they plans would not be discontinued.
About political system, he said, Pakistan needs proportionate representation in the legislatures and in the government as well.
“Energy crisis crippled our life including our economy. We shall overcome the crisis within 3 to 5 years. We have chalked out plans through a German company for generation of 80,000 megawatt electric power,†he said.
The MWM official elaborated that irrigation system of Pakistan is the best and more thermal power could be generated. He said wind power at the coastal areas and solar power would also be generated. Free electricity will be given to agriculture sector.
“Education, health and houses to all Pakistanis will be the priority of the MWM. National institutions will be made stronger. Tourism will be promoted. Pakistan will be able to make its own hybrid seeds, he said.
Nasir Shirazi said that political role of the police and intelligence agencies would be brought to an end.
“Women will enjoy all legitimate rights. They will feel no problem in education and health sector and will feel no difficulty in getting employment. They will have respectful status in the society,†he asserted.
He said that Palestine and Kashmir would be the main issues of MWM’s foreign policy. He opposed the huge strength of some countries in the name of diplomatic staff and said that no country needs up to 5,000 staffers.
“MWM rejects state within state, terrorism and so-called jihad of the fanatics. He said MWM would never take any step that is deleterious for national security. A code of conduct will be made taking media representatives into confidence and media will play constructive role that will be compatible with Islamic ideology,†he assured.
He said that the wealth of jagirdars and feudal lords and bigwigs would be held accountable and money and properties got through unfair means would be taken into government custody. Another institution will be established to check corruption with the help of judiciary.
“Pakistan will progress and people will begin spending prosperous and happy life if the MWM manifesto is implemented,†he maintained.
