Muttahida Qaumi Movement, whose leaders claim them to be Shia-friendly, began removing the graffiti of Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah (PBUH) and Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS) in a Shia majority area in Karachi.
Jafar-e-Tayyar Society in Malir is the most-populated and biggest Shia residential area in Karachi. All Shia parties unanimously raise the slogan of Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah (PBUH) and Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS) since the day one.
All Shia parties and anjumans also write these slogans in graffiti, banners, wall posters and pamphlets also. All Shia Muslims proudly chant the slogans of Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah Ya Hussain (AS) and this slogan is in the blood and soul of all the Shiites.
The activists of the MQM Malir Sector’s Unit 95 and Unit 97 stormed into Jafar-e-Tayyar on Thursday night and removed the sacred graffiti but the MWM’s members and supporters rewrote the graffiti.
After that, the MQM’s activists returned and tried to cover up their crime turning it into a sectarian issue and removed the graffiti again.
MWM office bearers and senior citizens of Jafar-e-Tayyar Society have demanded of the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain to apologise for the provocative act of his party’s activists and rein in them. They demanded that MQM leadership should take immediate action against those activists involved in hurting Shia Muslims
