Final phase of operation successfully going on, need to focus on post-operation issues: Army Chief

Shiite News: COAS General Raheel Sharif has said that FATA operation is moving towards its end and now we need to take advantage of benefits achieved from the operation in order to establish long term peace.

According to the statement issued by ISPR, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif chaired a corps commander conference in which satisfaction was expressed over successes of operation Zarb e Azb and sacrifices of security personnel and military officers were appreciated. Both internal and foreign security issues of the country were discussed in the meeting, whereas satisfaction was also expressed over the ongoing operation in Shawal and North Waziristan, ISPR told.

Army Chief directed to take measures for maintaining the writ of the state in FATA, for making border management further effective and for return of affected tribal people as soon as possible. COAS General Raheel Sharif said “final phase of operation is successfully going on and now we need to focus on post-operation issues as well”.

“Sacrifices of youngsters and officers are praiseworthy over which there will be no compromise”, he added.
