Mustafa Kamal demands amnesty for those who shed blood in Karachi

Shiite News: Former MQM leader Mustafa Kamal on Sunday demanded the Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers and activists who are in prison for having indulged in crimes at the behest of the party should be offered a way-out.

“They may have committed crimes but we must look at who turned them into criminals,” he said while talking to media here, adding, “If amnesty packages are given to rebels in Balochistan, something must be done for these prisoners as well.”

Reacting to MQM claim that imprisoned party workers were tortured by Rangers, Kamal said it was a good sign that the MQM was at least accepting that its workers had been in jails. Kamal said that it’s not one person but the whole family of a jailed worker that suffers.

One can smell danger from such statements. If Mustafa Kamal’s logic is accepted then all terrorists would be provided amnesty because no one is born as a terrorist, be it Usama Bin Laden or Mullah Umar, be it Malik Ishaq or Saulat Mirza no one was born as a terrorist. Therefore, in order to completely eliminate militancy from Pakistan it is necessary that all terrorists, no matter if they belong to a religious party, a political party or extremist groups, should be punished for their acts.

We demand that all terrorists and parties’ members, be it Altaf Hussain or Anees Qaim Khani, Hammad Siddiqui, Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab or any other MQM leader, who have been involved in killing thousands of innocent people of Karachi should be arrested and punished so that justice could be provided to the families of deceased.
