mwm 1Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, Secretary General of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has signed the Reconciliatory Accord that includes code of ethics for strengthening Shia unity and cohesion in Pakistan.

Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, Allama Ahmed Iqbal, Allama Maqsood Domki, Nasir Abbas Shirazi, Abdullah Mutehri, Asad Abbas Naqvi, Fazal Abbas and other officials of the MWM were also present.

Two senior religious scholars namely Allama Riaz Hussain Najafi and Allama Shaikh Mohsin Najafi brought forward the Reconciliatory Accord and signed the draft first and then presented it for others to sign it.

Theme behind the accord is aimed at unity and cohesion of Shia Muslims and their leadership on all key issues and no intra-Shiite tussle on any issue of common interest.

Allama Nasir Abbas Jafari said that the senior religious scholars are guide for us and we respect their goodwill and wishes for unity of Shiites. He said that the unity of Shia Muslims would help surmount the takfiri nasbi elements in the politics and society of Pakistan.

On the other hand, Allama Arif Wahidi, secretary general of Shia Ulema Council issued a confusing statement about the reconciliatory accord that includes code of ethics. His statement is too confusing to understand what he wants to mean. He tried to disown the accord saying it is not between two Shia parties.

It remains a fact that there are only two main Shia religio-political parties are active in Pakistani mainstream politics.
