Abbas Town incident: Survivors still haunted three years on

Shiite News: Three years have passed to one of the most tragic incidents in the history of Karachi, those who survived are still haunted by the memories. 3rd March 2013 was the day when a deadly explosion killed hundreds of both Shia and Sunni Muslims in Abbas Town area of Karachi. The bomb was planted in a car that terrorists had parked in the populated area of Abbas Town.

Although the houses of the victims, which were destroyed in the attack, were re-build last year with government’s aid but the survivors are still gripped by a sense of paralysis and the memories of that day are still fresh in their minds.

Survivors told Shiite News that Imam Hussain (as) and the incident of Karbala taught them to endure the pain and gave them strength to tolerate the losses. According to the report, some of the terrorists involved in the attack had been arrested by CTD, during a raid, including highly wanted terrorist Muhammad Anwar alias Molvi Abdullah along with his companions. There was also a prize money of 25 lacs on the terrorist’s head however, there are no information regarding the proceedings of his case in the court.
