Shia Ulema Council reaches electoral understanding with PPP
Shia Ulema Council that is contesting Elections 2013 from the platform of Islami Tehrik Pakistan has reached electoral understanding with Pakistan People’s Party.
Well-placed sources in the Shia party disclosed to the Shiite News that the deal with the PPP on 90% constituencies was struck.
However, reports had it that PMLN has also contacted the SUC/IST leadership for electoral understanding in Jhang district and on other constituencies. Shaikh Waqas Akram who recently joined the PMLN has also appeared before the SUC Parliamentary Board seeking their backing like last elections.
Amanullah Sial and other electoral contenders have also contacted the SUC for support in the elections.
Allama Arif Wahidi, secretary general of the SUC, heads the Parliamentary Board and he has final say on these matters. He will finalize what to do about the requests of the PMLN.
