National Action Plan: 334 people executed in a year

Shiite News: 148 cases were transferred to military courts in a year, according to the NAP whereas 334 people were executed nationwide. Government has also claimed a considerable reduction in extortion and other crimes as a result of operation in Karachi.

According to the National Action Plan’s report presented in the National Assembly, 148 cases from all over the country were transferred to military courts whereas 334 militants were executed. The report presented by interior ministry further stated that 2159 terrorists were killed and 1724 were arrested from all over the country.

The report also claims that a 56% decline was seen in extortion cases in Karachi whereas 890 terrorists were arrested. In addition to this, 676 proclaimed terrorists, 10462 fugitives, 124 kidnappers, 545 extortionists and 1834 killers were arrested.

2337 cases were registered nationwide against hate speeches and 2195 people were arrested and 73 shops were also sealed for keeping hate based literature.

Interior Ministry’s report further states that 9164 cases were registered for violating the loud speaker act and 9340 people were taken into custody on the basis of those cases and 2452 weapons were also recovered.  

124 cases were filed for financially supporting terrorists through Hundi and other sources, 322 people were arrested and 356.56 million rupees were recovered.

The report also states that 90 million 83 lac mobile phone Sims were biometrically registered whereas 10 websites and 933 URLs of different organizations were blocked.

NAP was formulated by the government to counter terrorism after the 16th December 2014’s attack on APS Peshawar according to which not only the actions against terrorists were increased but the un-announced ban on death penalty in the country since 6 years was also ended and executions of criminals in different jails of the country were started.
