‘Wahdat (unity) week’ to be celebrated nationwide from 12th to 17th Rabi ul Awal

Leader of Islamic Revolution and the Tashhai world Ayatollah Imam Khomeini (R.h) had ordered to celebrate ‘wahdat (unity) week’ from 12th to 17th Rabi ul Awal in accordance with the difference between Shia and Sunnis regarding the birth date of their last Prophet (PBUH). Shia Muslims celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on 17th Rabi ul awal whereas Ahl e Sunnat Muslims celebrate it on 12th Rani ul awal. Imam Khomeini (rh) ordered all Muslims to celebrate the ‘wahdat week’ so that enemies of Muslims and Islam could not make this an excuse to create difference among Muslims.

Accoridng to Shiite nwes’ report, the ‘wahdat week’ will be celebrated in Pakistan as well during which different programs will take place in accordance with the very theme ‘wahdat’ (unity) and Ulema of both Shia and Sunni sects will spread the message of unity, harmony and brotherhood. Shias of Pakistan, including Ulemas, participate in Ahl e Sunnat’s processions every year on 12th Rabi ul Awal, arrange sabeels (water and juices’ stalls) in order to practically spread the message of unity (wahdat).
