altaf shaheediShia leaders have strongly rejected the remarks of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain about calling-off of the sit-in that were staged to express solidarity with the heirs of martyrs of Hazara Town massacre.
Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, said that Altaf’s ludicrous remarks are known to everyone in the country.

“Heirs of martyrs of victims of Hazara Town terrorism posed confidence in Shia religious leadership and they have unshakeable trust in their Shia leadership so they asked Shia leadership to hold talks with the government on their behalf,” Allama Shaheedi said.

Shia leadership continued the sit-in as long as the heirs of the martyrs were not satisfied with the government’s guarantees. The sit-in ended after the heirs and relatives agreed to bury the martyrs.

Allama Shaheedi asked from Altaf to clarify his position on the targeted murders of innocent Shia Muslims in MQM-dominated areas of Karachi. He said that Shia leadership represents Shia community and nobody else enjoys confidence of Shiites in Pakistan.

Quetta Yakjehti Council, Shia Ulema Council, and almost all other parties have endorsed the reaction of Allama Shaheedi. They said that government had already announced that 150 terrorists were arrested and four were killed in targeted operation. They recalled that the government assured t launch army operation against the terrorists, payment of compensatory amount and jobs to the heirs of martyrs and establishment of an IT University in Hazara Town.

Shia leaders ask Altaf not to meddle into internal affairs of Shiites. They said that Altaf raised hue and cry that his party’s 15,000 workers were missing or killed and blamed PPP and PML governments for that but he joined hands with them. Chaudhry Shujaat was interior minister in Nawaz government and he is still a friend of Altaf Hussain.
