Allama Shaheedi: Sit-in to continue till govt reaches written agreement
Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, has refused to accept the verbal assurances of the government for targeted operation in Quetta and made clear that the government has to sign a written agreement with the grieved party.
At a hurriedly called press conference at the venue of sit-in in Quetta, Allama Shaheedi reacted to the reports that the Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has directed the targeted operation in Quetta and has transferred IG Baluchistan.
“Prime Minister had assured to meet all demands of the heirs of martyrs of Alamdar Road when he visited Punjabi Imam Bargah and held talks with Shia leadership there.
Had the army operation been launched against the terrorists after Alamdar Road Tragedy, he said, Hazara Town Tragedy would not have been occurred. He said that whole of Pakistan still mourn the Hazara Town Tragedy and express solidarity with Shia Hazara victims of terrorism.
“Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leadership has directed its followers to continue the sit-in across the country till the government enters into written agreement with us and the heirs of the martyrs,†he announced.
