Awakening of the Muslim Ummah Is Essential in the Face of Global Arrogance: Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi

Shiite News: Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi, head of the Tehreek-e-Bedari-e-Ummat-e-Mustafa Pakistan and administrator of Jamia Urwat-ul-Wusqa Lahore, has said that restricting religion merely to acts of worship amounts to denying its comprehensive nature. He stated that Islam is a complete social, political and intellectual system of life. Addressing a large Friday prayer gathering at Masjid Bait-ul-Atiq in Lahore, he spoke in detail about piety, the formation of the Muslim Ummah, the system of Imamate, education in the Qur’an and wisdom, and contemporary global developments.

He explained that human beings are social creatures and that the teachings of religion apply not only to individuals but also to society as a whole. Discussing the difference between reform and revolution, Allama Jawad Naqvi said that the purpose of the Holy Qur’an is not merely its recitation, but understanding its system of guidance and implementing it in life. Referring to the efforts of the divine prophets, particularly Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), in building an Ummah, he said that the continuity of religious guidance through the Imams and scholars of truth should be maintained in every era so that the younger generation can develop a genuine and comprehensive understanding of religion and confront what he described as imperialist conspiracies.

In the second part of his sermon, the Friday prayer leader strongly criticized the situation in the region and around the world, particularly what he described as Israeli atrocities against the oppressed Palestinians and the silence of Muslim rulers. He emphasized that unless political and social awareness is developed among the people, what he characterized as the wrong decisions of powerful states and rulers will continue. He stressed that, amid the current regional situation, Pakistan should move beyond pressure from major global powers and play a balanced and courageous role in promoting peace, stability and support for the oppressed.

At the conclusion of the sermon, special prayers were offered for the success of the oppressed Palestinians, the awakening of the Muslim Ummah, the security of Pakistan, and the hastening of the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon him).
