Banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Militants Attack Deputy Commissioner’s Convoy in Kohat, Vehicles Damaged

Shiite News: Militants affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi reportedly opened fire on the convoy of the Deputy Commissioner in the Rehmanabad area of Kohat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to details, the administration had carried out an operation against alleged illegal gold mining in Shakardarra. The convoy was targeted by armed militants from the banned organization while returning from the operation.

The attack and subsequent gunfire damaged vehicles in the convoy. However, fortunately, no casualties were reported. Police said that the Assistant Commissioner Lachi and the Assistant Commissioner of Kohat Tehsil were also accompanying the Deputy Commissioner in the convoy at the time of the attack.

Following the incident, police and law enforcement agencies immediately cordoned off the area. Police officials said a large-scale search operation has been launched to apprehend the fleeing militants affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

Further investigations are underway to determine the motives behind the attack and establish the identities of those involved.
