Taqwa, Patience and Repentance Lead to Spiritual Elevation, Says Allama Shabbir Hassan Misami

Shiite News: Secretary General of the Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, Allama Dr. Shabbir Hassan Misami, addressed a large Friday prayer gathering at Masjid and Imambargah Baqiyatullah in Defence, Karachi. In his address, he highlighted the importance of piety, gratitude, repentance and patience in light of the verses of the Holy Quran. He said that Allah’s blessings are so countless that human beings cannot enumerate them, yet people often tend toward ingratitude and denial of blessings.

Speaking about sins and repentance, Allama Shabbir Misami said that Allah is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful and does not allow His servants to lose hope in His mercy. He said that the fundamental harm caused by sin falls upon the individual, their family and society. Referring to trials and hardships, he said that fear, hunger and losses in wealth and lives are part of life’s tests, and merely claiming faith does not exempt a person from trials. According to him, love for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) is a great blessing from Allah through which a person should undertake their spiritual journey.

In his second sermon, Allama Shabbir Misami paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on September 11, his death anniversary, and described the protection and improvement of the country as a collective responsibility. He specifically mentioned people affected by military activities in Gangni, an area of Gilgit-Baltistan, and strongly urged the government to resettle affected families on their ancestral lands. He also appealed to philanthropists to play their role in the rehabilitation and support of flood victims.

Discussing the international situation, he emphasized the need for unity among Muslim countries amid the conflict between Yemen and Saudi Arabia and urged Pakistani rulers to adopt a cautious approach. Allama Misami also discussed tensions between Iran and the United States, Iran’s resistance and its notable scientific progress. He advised believers to adopt a balanced approach in the current circumstances and, rather than reacting emotionally to every piece of news on social media, to verify information and exercise patience.
