Lahore Airport, Air Bases, Media houses, Journalists and Politicians could be attacked
Sleeper Cells of Al-Qaeda and Tehreek e Taliban could attack Lahore Airport, similar to the Karachi airport’s attack, Air bases and selection centers in southern, central and northern Punjab. According to security sources, 3 alerts were sent to Punjab government during this month regarding the attacks on Lahore airport, air bases and selection centers. Sleeper cells of these organizations in Punjab could take part in carrying out these attacks with more than four highly trained terrorists. The information was gathered during investigation with six members of sleeper cells who were arrested whereas secret agencies also received some information from Afghan areas of Nangarhar, Kanter and Nooristan near Pakistan border. According to the security alerts issued by security agencies air bases and military selection centers in Shor Kot, Sargodha, Multan and Lahore could be attacked. Terrorists could also target military facilitation centers in Sialkot, Gujrat and Lahore and embassy and consulates of China in order to damage Economic corridor plan. Possible attacks on military centers could be a part of joint mission of Afghan NDS and Indian RAW.
In another category, terrorists could also target politicians. Leaders of a religious party and of the ruling party of KPK face more threats. Media organizations and journalists report regarding terrorism also face threats for attacks. In security alerts, Punjab government was asked to make special security arrangements for Lahore airport.
