Shia Ulema Council Donates Rs 2.5 Million to Phyalong Water Project

Shiite News: Central Secretary-General of the Shia Ulema Council, Dr. Shabbir Hassan Maisami, praised the hard work of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and described the successful completion of the Phyalong Water Diversion Project as the result of the collective efforts of Agha Syed Baqir Al-Hussaini and the people of Baltistan. During the ceremony, a donation of Rs 2.5 million was also presented on behalf of Leader of the Shia community, Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, for the major welfare project.

The dignified ceremony was attended by respected figures including Suhail Raza Salehi of Zahra Academy, Allama Sheikh Mirza Ali, President of the Anjuman Imamia Baltistan Allama Agha Syed Baqir Al-Hussaini, as well as a large number of religious scholars and community elders.

In his address, Dr. Shabbir Maisami praised the self-respect and determination of the youth of Baltistan, saying they believe in solving their problems through their own hard work rather than seeking assistance from others. A Fateha was also offered for the elevation of the ranks of Pakistan’s martyrs in connection with Defence Day.

Addressing the ceremony, Allama Agha Syed Baqir Al-Hussaini thanked the Leader of the Shia community for his continued support for the project. He emphasized that the project was not merely about providing water but also represented a practical example of unity among Muslims of different schools of thought.

He further said that if the country required their services for its defense, they would not hesitate to make the ultimate sacrifice. The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s security and for those serving the country and the community.
