Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi Issues Strong Message on World Humanitarian Day
Shiite News: On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day on August 19, Leader of the Islamic Movement in Pakistan, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, issued a strongly worded message, saying that the suffering, pain and monstrous violence endured by humanity today are indescribable. He said those who claim to be champions of human rights have devastated humanity, trampling innocent children and destroying hospitals, places of worship, markets and essential infrastructure. He said that because of imperialist and Zionist forces hiding behind the guise of humanity, fire and bloodshed prevail everywhere, while regrettably, the United Nations and other international forums have failed to move beyond condemnatory statements.
Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said that since 2008, World Humanitarian Day has been observed to recognize humanitarian workers and express solidarity with people facing hardship. However, he regretted that the oppression that began in the previous century has reached unprecedented levels during the first 26 years of the 21st century. He said the United Nations itself should now hold an accountability review and determine whether any practical measures have been taken to protect human values and ensure human rights.

He said that in Palestine, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, Somalia and other countries, there is hardly any form of oppression that has not been inflicted. He questioned the nature of the aggression imposed on Iran and said that the imperialist-Zionist alliance continues to maintain this dark night of oppression. Allama Naqvi warned that if this hand of oppression is not stopped, peace, humanity and tolerance in the world will be reduced to mere words and concepts found only in books.
