ISO Holds Grand Youm-e-Hussain Event at the University of Karachi Under the Theme “Hussainiyat Is Our Path”

Shia News: The Imamia Students Organization (ISO) organized its annual Youm-e-Hussain (AS) event at the University of Karachi under the theme “Hussainiyat Is Our Path.” The gathering was held with religious devotion and focused on the teachings of Imam Hussain (AS) and the message of Karbala.

The event was attended by faculty members, students, religious scholars from different schools of thought, intellectuals, and personalities from various walks of life. According to the organizers, the purpose of the program was to introduce the younger generation to the life of Imam Hussain (AS), the philosophy of Karbala, and his universal teachings, while promoting unity among Muslims and encouraging character building, ethical values, and service to humanity.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, a tribute to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and devotional recitations in honor of Imam Hussain (AS).

In the first session, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Syed Farrukh Abbas Rizvi said that the tragedy of Karbala is not merely a historical event but a timeless message of truth, justice, freedom, and human dignity. He urged young people to follow the example of Imam Hussain (AS) by embracing honesty, integrity, courage, and public service.

During the second session, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Shehnshah Hussain Naqvi spoke about the philosophy of Karbala and the relevance of Imam Hussain’s teachings in the modern world. He said that today’s society has an even greater need for justice, truthfulness, moral leadership, and steadfastness, adding that Karbala teaches believers never to compromise on truth in the face of oppression.

University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi also addressed the gathering. He described Imam Hussain (AS) as a universal symbol of justice, honesty, courage, and moral excellence. He noted that universities are not only institutions of higher education but also centers for intellectual and character development, and said that events such as Youm-e-Hussain help promote tolerance, positive thinking, and national unity among students.

Mufti Fazal Hamdard, described as an advocate of Muslim unity, said that Imam Hussain’s sacrifice belongs to all Muslims and humanity as a whole. He urged young people to learn lessons of sincerity, ethics, unity, mutual respect, and service to society from the life of Imam Hussain (AS).

Speakers emphasized that Imam Hussain’s teachings transcend time, geography, and sectarian boundaries, offering guidance for every society. They said the message of Karbala encourages standing against injustice, supporting the oppressed, promoting justice, and serving humanity. The program concluded with special prayers for the unity of the Muslim Ummah, the peace and stability of Pakistan, and the welfare of the Islamic world.
