The Ministry of Petroleum has announced that the project could enter the implementation phase. The pipeline, also known as the “Peace Pipeline,” was launched more than a decade ago. Iran completed its portion of the project years ago, while Pakistan lagged behind due to U.S. sanctions, external pressure, and financial constraints.

Experts believe that completing the pipeline could help address Pakistan’s energy shortages and significantly reduce import costs. Regional analysts describe the Iran-US agreement as a major turning point that could pave the way for large-scale economic and infrastructure projects across the region.
